Please explain how this is photojournalism. You were there were you? You somehow got a Canon 5D mkII digital camera to that moment in time? That would be news worthy if you'd managed that.
The word journalism still has some small amount of integrity left to it which means editing an image is unacceptable. If this is a battle reenactment then you need to identify what battle, where it was and when. Or move this to the proper category.

The PPSh was actually pretty popular in the German armies and there were plenty captured examples. Also, because of the very close dimensional similarities between the 7.62 Tokarev and the 7.63 Mauser cartridge used in the C96 pistol, the PPSh could fire either cartridge, and was thus easily supplied with ammunition.
