For all who are concerned: The Germans are in Waffen SS camo smocks, in one of the the autumn patterns. Nationality wise, the W-SS used many foreign volunteers, so it is nearly impossible to know - without seeing any identifying insignia (special collar tabs, cuffbands or sleeve shields).
No matter how many times that I scroll down just to look at the thumbnail version of this shot, I still can't figure out how the heck am I seeing a woman's face on the mushroom cloud when I can't find a trace of it on the actual picture at all.
Anyways, this is a wonderful shot of something that might have happened during WWII.
A great shot, I would also like more details about how it was set up. The group on the right spoil it a little. Apart from the left most soldier, the others don't seem exactly prepared for a fire fight. The guy at the back in the middle looks to be holding his gun backwards and its hard to imagine that the Russian soldier on the left doesn't see them already.
my only complaint is that the soldiers on the right look american, and the soldier on the left looks soviet, america and the union were allies, why would american soldiers be hiding behind a german tank from soviet soldiers? on a somewhat less pointless note, I really like the smoke cloud, makes it look like an active battle
